Pre-Flushed, Plugged and Polished OEM SOHC Non-Turbo Camshafts (99-12)

Description

One of the biggest problems with SOHC Subaru engines is their hollow cams. This is a problem because this is where a lot of the metal shavings and debris come to rest after a catastrophic engine failure. If not properly flushed (or replaced), it sends all that metal back into the oiling system of your new engine; often resulting in immediate damage that will put you right back where you started. This is why we often recommend a long block over a short block. For our more hands on customers that like to do more of the assembly than the long block allows, we offer these cams on exchange for both the Early (99-05) and Late (06-12) model SOHC Subaru engines. They will come ready to install on your new OR used cylinder heads; however, we still highly recommend that your heads be professionally inspected before installation to check for things like warpage, worn or slipping guides, bent/burnt valves, etc. This is our #1 recommended add-on for your short block purchase!
